PHRYGIA. Laodicea ad Lycum, circa 133/88-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 25 mm, 12.54 g, 12 h), Euenos, son of Herodos. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, ΛAO; above, EYHNOΣ / HPΩΔOY; to right, winged kerykeion. BMC -. SNG Copenhagen 491. SNG von Aulock -. Rare with this magistate. The obverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.

The magistrate Euenos, son of Herodos, is also attested on cistophoroi in the name of C. Fabius M. F. (Hadrianus?), the Roman proconsul of Asia in 58/7-56 BC (Stumpf 27).
